Introduction to Virtual Reality

This course introduces students to the fundamentals of building virtual worlds.  Using modern software tools like the A-Frame Javascript library and the Unity graphics engine, the students will design and create their own virtual reality worlds.  Students will experience their creations using VR devices as well as their own smartphone VR headset!  Topics covered include the A-Frame frameworks; creating and interacting with three-dimensional objects; applying colors and textures to a mesh; collision detection; animating three-dimensional objects; importing images and videos; and virtual vs. augmented reality.
